This piece is a collection of 19 illustrated wooden panels. Each panle is representative of a memory from a journey I took, beginning in Poznan, then travelling to Wroclaw, Prague, Budapest, Berlin and finally Hamburg. I chose to include, building, patters, people, signs and bits of text that I foud were representative of my journey. I chose his format, as I wanted to explore the way small fragments of memory come together to create a complete experience.
Delight by J.B Priestley
This was a project I undertook to create illustrations and design a cover for one of the books of my great grandfather, 'Deligh'. A book about 'taking pleasure in the small things in life', I immensely enjoyed being able to use his rich and vivid descriptions to create visual imagery. The recurring pattern of yellow criss crosses is based on the pattern that used to be in my grandmothers kitchen, and the overall style and tone of the images I wanted to have a slight 1940's nostalgia feel.

Pitfield Shop Window
A project from 2016, with two fellow illustrators (Kerry Cleaver, Izzy Smithson) we designed and created a window display for the Shop, Pitfield London, near old street. We did a lot of reseacrh into the area, and wanted to combine the historical themes of the music halls and vibrant musical history with the 'curiosities' that the shop markets. So we came up with the idea of a travelling man and his medicine cart full of curiosities. Our colour palette was heavily influenced by Pitfield's interior. Using a range of different mediums and techniques, acrylic paint, lino cut, woodworking we constructed a fictional modern day travelling man, with his boombox and carts, filled with 'curiosities'!
